The Strategic Thought Services Team has delivered solutions to companies across the whole range of industry sectors, but most of our customers are in Finance, Retail, Telco or Transport. It is in these industry sectors that we have the most experience, but we are more than happy to discuss the application of our expertise in other sectors too.

Finance

STG delivers solutions into the Finance sector that range from performance tuning of a bond broking system at BNP Paribas to building an enterprise service bus for Investec.

Our largest integration project to date has been the replacement of the payments architecture at Lloyds TSB with a WebSphere Broker environment to handle all retail transactions. The infrastructure allows Lloyds TSB the flexibility to adopt Faster Payments and Single Euro Payments (SEPA), and further exploitation as the business requires.

In addition, we are now fully accredited to provide services around IBM’s new Datapower (secure, Web Services integration) devices.

Other customers include Schroder’s Investment Management, Bank of America and Deutsche Bank.

Retail

In such a highly competitive marketplace, STG recognises the need to deliver cost-effective IT solutions on-time and on-budget.

We can help companies choose, design, implement and manage the right architecture, enabling adaptability to market and competition changes. IT should no longer be the bottleneck to business agility, especially in the fast-moving Retail Space.

For example, working with a large Catalogue Retailer in the UK, we enabled full integration of their Legacy applications to prevent the costly need of migrating to new Web-enabled systems.

We have also delivered portal and dashboard technologies to allow easy visibility of management information as well as partner and supplier data (with full integration at the back-end).

We have experience developing bespoke applications to meet your business requirements, but are also able to take control of ring-fenced components of  work such as testing or application deployment, ensuring that you are able to continue to focus on your core business whilst delegating critical tasks to safe hands.

Telco & Media

In this fast-moving industry, business agility is paramount – whether you are a large Telco expanding into new markets (e.g. the recent move to “Triple Play” services – Telephone, Broadband and TV via single supplier), or a small start-up niche player needing to scale rapidly to cope with customer demands.

Strategic Thought can help by ensuring software architecture is designed to be adaptable, by incorporating a standards-based SOA approach. STG have a long track record of successfully working in the Telco & Media sectors.

Cable and Wireless is a good example of where we provided services around Portal technologies to allow customers visibility of important account and support information in real-time. This included full back-end integration, and allows expansion to include new applications as required, thus ensuring future-proofing.

Transport
